I just flew back to LA from my Grandma’s funeral in Vancouver. It was the first funeral I’ve ever been to, so it was very interesting in that respect. I wasn’t that close to her, so it didn’t bother me that much. What gets me more is seeing my dad and his siblings being upset.
My sister had her wedding just a couple of days before in Santa Barbara. It was really great — she had a wedding on the beach, and then had a trolley take us up the scenic route up the hill to a hotel overlooking the town where we had a beautiful outdoor reception. I’ll put the pics up when I get back to Toronto.
My brother-in-law had a really cute nephew, just 6 months old. He’s huge and very playful. It got me thinking about how I’ve seen the various stages of life come full circle on this trip. From birth to marriage, and then back to death with my Grandma finally being buried next to my Grandpa afer over 20 years. I’m not quite sure what to make of it.
